Singer, songwriter, musician, performer, entertainer, and accomplished producer, Marlayah's prowess shines through in her latest release, the fifth album titled "Sugar Khane," available across all major platforms. Notably, this album features tracks entirely crafted—written, produced, arranged, and composed—by Marlayah herself. Recognized as "Miss McLeod" onstage and across social media, she's a multi-instrumentalist known for her captivating live and virtual performances. Her music has graced renowned venues like the Apollo in Harlem, New York, RBC Blues Fest, TD Place, The Museum of Nature, and many more prestigious stages, including captivating performances at festivals like House of PainT, FemmeVox, Cranium Festival, Capital Pride and the Ottawa Children’s Festival. Her album release party for "Sugar Khane" drew a packed house of fans who vibed to her fresh tracks, a testament to her growing influence and talent. One of her recent original creations, "Last Night," has earned a place on CBC’s top 100 'stand-out' artists for the 2022 Toyota Searchlight competition playlist, showcasing her rising prominence in the music scene. Marlayah's vocal versatility spans from the soulful tunes of Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone to the modern beats of Jay-Z and Rihanna. As a music producer, she draws inspiration from artists like Alicia Keys while showcasing her original tunes on the guitar. Her musical journey started early, producing her first indie EP at just 11 years old, an authentic expression straight from her heart.
